A new website on Cloudflare Pages and a DNS migration without email downtime.

Background

Døveforeningen af 1866 is one of Denmark’s oldest Deaf associations, and also operates a rental venue for events. Their existing website was out of date, and their DNS was hosted with a provider that had become an operational bottleneck.

Brief

Build a new site that gave the association a proper digital presence, migrate DNS to a more flexible provider, and preserve the existing Google Workspace email routing — with zero minutes of downtime.

Approach

A new Astro-based site deployed on Cloudflare Pages. DNS migrated from Gigahost to Cloudflare with careful handling of MX records so that Google Workspace email continued uninterrupted through the cutover. In parallel, a professional PDF price list produced for the venue rental, giving the association a single document to send to prospective renters.

Outcome

A live site at df1866.dk, low running costs (Cloudflare Pages is free at this scale), and an association infrastructure that can be developed further without vendor lock-in.
