I typically work on rolling engagements rather than fixed-price projects. That leaves room to build the right thing rather than the agreed thing, and to adjust as reality changes. For smaller, well-scoped tasks (a migration, a DNS handover), I'm happy to give a fixed estimate up front.

Web applications

Full-stack development of internal systems, booking platforms, ERPs, and similar. I work primarily in Laravel (backend) and Vue (frontend), with MySQL or PostgreSQL for data.

Typical deliverables:

• New systems from architecture through to production
• Continued development and maintenance of existing Laravel/Vue codebases
• Integrations with third-party APIs (payments, accounting, calendar, etc.)
• Performance and database optimisation

Websites & CMS migrations

Building new sites and migrating older ones to modern, static stacks. My default recommendation is Astro paired with a headless CMS (Sveltia, Decap, or similar) — the combination gives you fast sites, low running costs, and an editorial workflow that doesn't require WordPress hosting.

Typical deliverables:

• Migration from WordPress to Astro/Sveltia with content and URL structure preserved
• New sites built from scratch in Astro
• Deployment setup on Cloudflare Pages with custom domain
• Editor onboarding and documentation

Infrastructure & operations

DNS, email authentication, domain administration, and server operations. I'm comfortable taking over from a previous vendor or administrator.

Typical deliverables:

• DNS migration between providers (Simply.com, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Gigahost) without email interruption
• SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration
• Google Workspace administration, user management, and forensic investigations
• Server operations on Hetzner (Laravel production servers, backups, SSH setup)

For organisations facing larger technology decisions without an in-house technical lead.

Typical deliverables:

• Assessment of existing systems and vendor agreements
• Architecture and stack recommendations ahead of a tender or RFP
• Code review and security review of external deliveries
