About

I'm Andreas Sørbye Styltsvig, and I run AStyltsvig Consulting as a single-person practice out of Vanløse, Copenhagen.

I've been working in web development for more than a decade, and my focus over the last few years has been full-stack development in Vue and Laravel — particularly for organisations where the system needs to live for many years and hold up under actual use, not just a demo.

How I work

I'm deaf, and all communication happens in writing — email, Slack, GitHub issues, shared documents. In practice, that means you get thorough, traceable communication by default: decisions get documented, agreements are in writing, and you can always go back and see what we decided three months ago.

Many clients find this a strength. Software projects rarely fail because of code — they fail because of unclear agreements and lost context. Written communication solves a large part of that problem.

What I can help with

• Building and maintaining web applications in Vue/Laravel
• Migrating older sites (typically WordPress) to modern, static stacks
• Taking over ownership of DNS, email, and domain administration from a previous vendor
• Advising on technical architecture, vendor selection, and operational setup

What I don't do

Pure frontend design without development, SEO-as-a-service, paid advertising, or "quick fixes" on systems I don't have the chance to understand properly. I'd rather take on fewer clients and go deep with each of them.

Background

I'm active in the Danish Deaf community and have worked closely with several organisations in it, including Danske Døves Landsforbund (the Danish Deaf Association) and Døveforeningen af 1866. My flagship product, Mallard, is an ERP system for a Danish sign language interpreting bureau that I've built and operated since 2022.
