Tegnsprogspakken migrated from WordPress to a fast, editor-friendly Astro stack.

Background

Tegnsprogspakken (“The Sign Language Pack”) is DDL’s content platform for Danish sign language resources. The site ran on WordPress, with all the maintenance burden that implies: security updates, plugin dependencies, slow performance, and an editorial workflow that had become more cumbersome than it needed to be.

Brief

Migrate the site to a modern, static stack without losing content, URL structure, or the editorial freedom the editors were used to — and without adding complexity for the people maintaining content day to day.

Approach

A new Astro-based site with Sveltia CMS as the editorial surface. Sveltia offers a WordPress-like editing experience on top of Git-based content, so editors can work the way they’re used to while the site underneath is static, fast, and nearly free to run. DNS coordinated via Simply.com, and a collaboration agreement drafted so roles and responsibilities were clear from day one.

Outcome

A faster site, lower running costs, and a security posture without WordPress-specific risks. The editors kept the workflow they knew.
