Danske Døves Landsforbund (DDL)
A new design and a new technical foundation for DDL's sign-language resources.
Background
Tegnsprogspakken (“The Sign Language Pack”) is the Danish Deaf Association’s platform for sign-language resources. The content was strong, but the expression needed a lift, and the technical foundation had to be fast and cheap to run.
Delivery
The site was relaunched with a new design and a more contemporary expression. The content and URL structure were preserved along the way, so all existing links and search rankings still work.
Technically, it is a static Astro site on Cloudflare Pages with Sveltia CMS as the editorial surface. Sveltia layers a familiar editing interface on top of Git-based content, so editors work as in a classic CMS while everything is versioned automatically.
Outcome
A fresher expression, fast load times, and running costs close to zero. The editors could work in the system without any training, and the platform can evolve without vendor lock-in.
